Getting started

Supervision begins with a conversation.

I offer an initial exploratory conversation to discuss what you are looking for, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we might be a good fit to work together.

If we decide to proceed, we will agree a written supervision contract that sets out the purpose, boundaries and expectations of our work together.

Practical arrangements

The setting can be an important part of the supervision process and we will agree an approach that best supports your learning and reflection.

Most supervision takes place online, providing flexibility and accessibility wherever you are based.

If you are local to Lancaster, UK, we may choose to meet in person. Where it is conducive to the work, we may also work outdoors, drawing on the benefits of walking, nature and reflective conversation.

I offer supervision for individuals, groups and organisations and am happy to travel by arrangement to facilitate supervision in organisational settings.

My approach to contracting

I work collaboratively and believe that supervision is something we create together.

Contracting is an important part of this process. It helps us establish clarity about:

  • What you would like to focus on

  • What you are hoping to gain from supervision

  • How we will work together

  • The support and challenge you need

  • Practical and ethical boundaries

Supervision is responsive and we will revisit our contract as our work develops.

What we might explore

Every supervision conversation is different. Together we may explore:

  • Professional practice

  • Learning and development

  • Role and identity

  • Relationships and boundaries

  • Ethics and decision-making

  • Power and authority

  • Organisational dynamics

  • Group processes and group dynamics

  • Wellbeing and sustainability

Reviewing our work

Supervision is an ongoing learning relationship.

Periodically we will review:

  • What is working well

  • What could be improved

  • What learning is emerging

  • Whether the supervision is meeting your needs

These conversations help ensure that supervision remains relevant, effective and supportive.

Confidentiality

Supervision is confidential within the limits of professional, ethical and legal responsibilities.

I may discuss aspects of my supervision practice within my own supervision to support safe and ethical practice. My supervisees are not identifiable within this process.

Any notes are kept securely and in accordance with relevant data protection requirements.

Professional standards

My work is grounded in:

  • Transactional Analysis

  • Co-creative approaches

  • Supervision practice

  • Educational and systemic theory

  • The ITAA Code of Ethics

I engage in regular supervision, ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Fees

Individual practitioners

I aim to make supervision accessible whilst recognising the value of the work.

Fees are agreed collaboratively before supervision begins. I recognise that people work in a range of contexts and at different stages of their careers. As a guide, fees are usually based on your current hourly rate, plus 10%. If cost is a concern, I am happy to discuss arrangements that feel fair, sustainable and workable for both of us.

An invoice is issued following each session and payment is requested within 14 days.

Group supervision

Fees for group supervision are agreed according to the size and purpose of the group. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Organisations

If individual or group supervision is being commissioned by an organisation, please get in touch to discuss requirements and fees.

Ready to explore supervision

If you would like to arrange an introductory conversation or discuss whether supervision might be right for you, I'd be delighted to hear from you.
